TWO FAMILIES ARE reeling in pain after awaking yesterday to the tragic news of the death of loved ones – and graphically bloody pictures on BlackBerry (BB) Messenger of their demise.
Jason Burke, 31, of Train Road, Marchfield, St Philip, and Keisha Mason, 29, of Browne’s Gap, Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church, died on the spot along Ruby, St Philip, after a hired car in which they were passengers was involved in a smash-up with a minibus about 5:45 a.m.
Stephen Chase, 28, of Rock Hall, St Philip (who was driving the hired car), and his passengers Lisa Brathwaite, 33, of Black Rock, St Michael, and Shelley Bourne, 30, of Clapham, Christ Church, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) after the Barbados Fire Service’s Jaws Of Life had to free them. They were reported to be in serious condition.
The five were returning from a fete in St Philip and travelling towards Bridgetown.
