Known for the successful Tickled Pink annual fundraiser – a ladies only cocktail event – the Charity Chicks aim to assist local programmes and organizations needing a helping hand through fundraising and volunteerism.
The Chicktails social held last month, was the official kickoff for 2012, revealing the launch of Ticked Pink 2012. This year’s event will be held on April 21, at the exclusive Limegrove Rooftop in Holetown and proceeds will benefit Camp Pride, a two week camp run by Krystal Boyea of the Diabetes Association of Barbados, aimed at juvenile diabetics ages five to 16 to help them learn to manage their disease in a supportive environment. In addition to fundraising, the Chicks emphasized that there will be many volunteer opportunities to assist with the camp, which is scheduled for the summer, including physical activities, cooking classes and tours for the kids.
The Chicks, Dr Madhuvanti Murphy, Ms Tracey Worme and Mrs Kelly Gibson, together with Barbados Property List, also announced their adoption of a beach in Maxwell, with the hopes of getting children involved in beach-clean up, turtle protection and educational activities. Other upcoming Charity Chick activities include a women’s self defense training, Holders Season picnic with the Chicks, and Charity Zumba.

In addition, guests also enjoyed the acoustic marvels of George Gill, who set a relaxing tone with live music.
Two ladies were treated to generous door prizes from Villeroy & Boch Barbados and Glo Spa & Salon.
