The Special Branch division has been the major casualty in an apparent re-shuffling of duties in the Royal Barbados Police Force.
Head of the intelligence unit, Assistant Superintendent Richard Boyce and his deputy Inspector Barry Hunte have been removed from the department along with some lower rank officers.
Superintendent William Yearwood is expected to be the command officer of the Special Branch unit.
According to sources, Assistant Superintendent Antonio Forte has also been removed as head of the Special Services Unit (SSU) in what has been described as a shake-up within the rank and file of the Police Force. (TS)
