BARBADOS’ teenaged world-ranked junior surfer Chelsea Tuach has caught the attention of a leading fin producer, Futures, which operates out of Huntington Beach, California.
The company, which produces some of the most progressive fins, is now firmly behind Tuach as she prepares to make her onslaught on the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Women’s Qualifying Series this year.
The Barbados’ Open Women’s, Under-18 Girls’ and Under-21 national champion and the 2013 North American Pro Junior Series champion, is one of surfing’s rising stars and a great fit for “Futures”.
“We are very excited to welcome Chelsea as part of Futures’ family. She is a great talent and we are happy to ensure that she has the best equipment as she continues to make her mark on the world stage,” said Futures’ representative Brian Robbins.
“I love Futures and am really stoked to ride for them this year. The fins are definitely helping me to push my surfing and that is what I need to do if I am going to match up with the world’s best,” said Tuach, who is the No.3-ranked junior in the world.
Tuach leaves Barbados next week for Costa Rica for a week’s training with world class coach Jim Hogan, before making the long trek across the Pacific Ocean for Australia where she will be competing in four major ASP contests in the month of February before heading back to the United States.  (PR/EZS)
