BWU Diamonds and RT Ballers maintained their dominance when the semi-finals of the Barbados Workers’ Union Netball League were staged on Monday night at the Netball Stadium.
The Diamonds, who had topped the Sir Roy Trotman Zone, dazzled and then choked Chickmont Ballers in their customary one-sided manner 66-21 after leading 19-9, 30-13 and 48-17. With a surplus of talent, Diamonds left a number of their starters on the bench to rack up an early 14-1 lead against Chickmont, who had ended in the fourth spot in the regular season.
Goal shooter Kerryann Brathwaite ignored a hand injury and joined the fray in the second half to once again lead Diamonds scoring 29 goals from 35 attempts. Starting shooter Colleen Griffith had made 25/30 while goal attack Charlene Jordan added 12/18.
Chickmont were totally outplayed in every department as their Christ Church Foundation shooting trio were granted just 32 shots in the contest. Chiara Chase scored 10/17, Aiyana Reid shot 7/9 and Carolann Nurse made 4/6. (KB)
