The man who was recruited by late Prime Minister David Thompson to get the stalled Four Seasons hotel restarted has cut ties with the project.
Professor Avinash Persaud, in a note to colleagues yesterday morning, revealed that he had resigned from the position of executive chairman of the board of Paradise Beach Limited, developers of Four Seasons Barbados.
The resignation was effective November 19.
The move by Persaud comes at a time when both Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler and Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy have hinted that the hotel and luxury villa project, which stalled in February 2009, would be restarted soon.
In Persaud’s letter he noted: “Although the challenges in the tourism sector have lasted a couple years longer than was anticipated, I believe the project has now advanced to a position where it should be able to proceed.”
