Women’s cricket is one of the fastest growing sports and the upcoming ICC Women’s World T20 is set to further showcase the game to the global audience.
West Indies, under the leadership of Stafanie Taylor, are set to defend their world title on home soil, starting November 9 at the Guyana National Stadium. Other matches will be played at the Daren Sammy Ground in St Lucia and the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.
Speaking on the eve of the tournament, Philip Spooner, Head of Media said the tournament is already attracting attention and the players were eager to impress in front of a global audience.
“The teams are starting to arrive and with this you are starting to get a feel of what is to come. As the organising committee we are quite pleased with how things are going as we look forward to what will be an exciting few weeks of cricket,” Spooner said. (PR/EZS)
