Career choices for students

The career showcase at the St Leonard’s Boys School today, made sure that the boys walked away with some experience in the field they may have their eyes set on.
The students of the all-boys school were exposed to a number of careers choices through the interactive sessions and one on one chats at the school.
Guidance Counsellor Shernelle Belle-Alexander said the showcase, geared towards third through to fifth form students, was designed to help third formers, in particular, with subject choices, while the seniors were being prepared for entry into a tertiary institution or the direct transition into the world of work.
Professionals from the fields of business and marketing, chefs, caters, veterinarians from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) chatted with the children while the main display was mainly the Barbados Fire Service, The Royal Barbados Police Force and The Barbados Defence Force.  
Joanne Jones Funeral Services and The Barbados Vocational Training Board also had display booths.
