Authorized taxi drivers at the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) are calling on Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy to look into the competition they get from illegal drivers.
They complain that GAIA’s management has looked into the matter, but failed to address it.
The corporate communications specialist for GAIA, Keith Goddard, said GAIA had been dealing with the problem for some time with the assistance of the police and authorized agencies responsible for taxi operations in Barbados.
The drivers told the SATURDAY SUN this week that the issue of “snatchers carrying away most of the taxi work at the airport” dated back years and needed to be dealt with urgently. (AH)
