BY THE END OF April, about 80 per cent of the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre should be occupied and the entire complex completed and opened by November.
This latest assessment came from managing director of Altman Real Estate, Paul Altman. He was speaking during an inaugural Press briefing for Christie’s International Real Estate, a company for which Altman Real Estate is the Barbadian affiliate.Altman said they were very much on target for completion as more than 90 per cent of the building was let with tenants signed to move in.
“We have only between 30 and 40 per cent of the tenants open for business so far. We expect that by the end of April, we will have between 70 and 80 per cent of the shops here open.
Then, the final signature tenant that will be opened is Louis Vuitton. And they are going to open their building in November and that will signal the grand opening of Limegrove,” he said.
Limegrove Lifestyle Centre is Barbados’ first mixed lifestyle centre, with several brand name shops, located in Holetown. There is also a residences component. Altman Real Estate is the developer.
Altman said they had permission to build 54 homes.
“But we have built only eight and the reason that we built eight is that we are completing the commercial side of Limegrove, the Lifestyle Centre, before we focus fully on the residential component. So we have sold several of these homes and rented several already to date and the idea is to continue to expand that until we put out all 54 homes,” he said.
