Good Shepherd Primary are still the double crown champions.
Earlier today, they retained both titles in the Obadele Thompson Zone 1 of the 2011 Pine Hill National Primary Schools’ Athletic Championships in commanding style.
The girls held the lead and never surrendered, finishing with 193 points, 53.5 more than St Mark’s and St Philip who were in a second place tie.
In a close finish, Workman’s were one point behind them in fourth place and 2009 champions St Catherine  fifth with 95 points.
The Good Shepherd boys had to work a bit harder, coming from behind to overtake early leaders Workmans. With 183.75 points, they continue to dominate this zone, pushing Workmans into second place with 162.
The boys from St Catherine put in a very good performance to finish third with 129.75 points. St Margaret’s also did well to finish fourth with 123 and Boscobel were fifth with 88 points.
Despite their dominance, the top two athletes didn’t hail from Good Shepherd.
Shatori Evelyn of St Bernard’s was the victor ludorum, while Workmans Rodnica Jones was the victrix ludorum, both with 28 points.
Tomorrow will be the Patsy Callender Zone 5 meet.
