Guyanese in Barbados observe Independence

THE GUYANESE COMMUNITY in Barbados came out in full force for their country’s 48th  Independence anniversary inter-faith service at the St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral, Bay Street, St Michael this morning.
Monsignor Vincent Blackett in his remarks retraced the contributions Guyanese made to Barbados and encouraged a stronger relationship between the two countries.
Michael E. Brotherson Consul General of the Republic of Guyana also spoke of a need for the two countries to strengthen their relationship through trade.
He made reference to the progress that Guyana is making both socially and economically and renewed his invitation to its CARICOM partners to invest in the South American country.
Guyana celebrates its independence tomorrow. (JS)
