Low down and dirty shame

RECENT REVELATIONS seem to have placed a certain individual under immense pressure.
Because of the revelations, the individual – who is charged with looking after a large number of people – is now being accused by some as focusing on a select minority from a particular district.
Those making the charges are saying the revelations seem to explain why, despite their search high or low for the individual, they cannot find them.
These people are now so upset that they have been visiting this individual’s office in droves, prompting those working there to request personal security on top of the full time guard that is stationed there.
According to reliable sources, the people who feel slighted are also planning to boycott whatever activities put on by this individual in the future. They are reportedly saying that unless they too can benefit from the same natural consideration choices that others have, they will withdraw their support from this individual.

12 years a visitor
QUESTIONS ARE BEING asked why a non-Barbadian, who has been living here for a few years, seems to be enjoying benefits that only a Bajan should.
From what Cou Cou has been told, this man lives at a privileged place and sometimes drives a car belonging to a major organisation.
From what we have been able to gleam, this man came to Barbados to work with a regional body more than a decade ago, but has not departed our shores since.
The real concern though of those observing this man is that he gets treatment for a chronic illness here but seems to be getting the medication and treatment free. When challenged, the man reportedly said everything was being paid for. Those treating him are saying the same thing too.
But those observing the situation are wondering how this could be so when the country he comes from is going through major financial problems too and are finding it difficult to pay some of the most basic of their bills.

Not business as usual
TO PAY OR not to pay.
That is the issue that has a number of people up in arms over the future of an annual event scheduled to be held in a few weeks.
The man in charge has already indicated that it cannot be business as usual and those who benefit from the service must fork out some money, however little, to pay for it.
Others on his advisory team feel differently. They are arguing that in these tough times, if the freeness stops now it could impact on their future, so it should continue.
They are proposing a scaling down of activities and provisions, to slash the bills, and that way the event may be kept free at the point of delivery.
A decision is soon scheduled to be made, and depending on what it is, we all would know which camp won the day on this matter.
