KNIGHTHOODS are set to be conferred on three cricket legends.
According to the Antigua Observer, former West Indies’ fast bowlers Andy Roberts and Curtly Ambrose, as well as batsman Richie Richardson, are to receive Antigua & Barbuda’s second highest honour on Friday.
That’s when West Indies will take on England in the first One-Day International match at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds.
Organisers are tight-lipped, but Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer and Leader of the Opposition Gaston Browne are expected to be present when Governor General Dame Louise Lake-Tack confers the honours during the lunch break.
