Poll ‘no time soon’

There’s a prediction that Prime Minister Freundel Stuart will call elections later rather than sooner unless his administration can resolve the major issues plaguing it, including the CLICO and Four Seasons controversies.
Noted political strategist Hartley Henry, who was principal advisor to the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) for the January 15, 2008 general election, and political scientist Dr George Belle stayed clear of making any forecasts yesterday.
However, political economist Dr Don Marshall suggested that the DLP Government and Stuart himself had a few points to prove before seeking another mandate.
He told the WEEKEND NATION Stuart wasn’t watching the date so much as he was watching the extent to which he can say, “We have delivered”.
