Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley has sent an early warning to those who are looking for increases and other concessions for Crop Over 2012.
Lashley told the WEEKEND NATION he would make decisions “based on what is affordable and what, of course, the Government can afford”.
He stated this position days after tent managers refused to draw for judging dates at a stakeholders meeting with the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) Monday unless certain demands were made.
The two parties sat down again on Tuesday night, but the tent managers are not budging. Information suggests that the matter has been turned over to Lashley for a resolution.
