A ‘poor image’ of country

THE FIERY death of six young women last Friday night is a “poor reflection on Barbados”.
Head of the Clement Payne Movement, David Comissiong, who is also a sponsor of the 34th annual Richard Stoute Teen Talent Competition, made that statement last Sunday night at the Plantation Garden Theatre where patrons were asked to remember the deceased and those who mourn their loss.
“There are far too many incidents in our country of our women being hurt, injured and even losing their lives at the hands of Barbadian men. And this is not good enough. This is a very poor reflection on Barbados,” Comissiong charged.
He said that in a country like Barbados people should be operating as a “well ordered and humane” family and queried why people had fallen so far from that ideal. (YB)
