Bajan sprinter Darian Clarke didn’t execute Stage 1 of the men’s 100m at the Buenos Aires 2018 Games the way he wanted, but is satisfied with his performance nevertheless.
Clarke crossed the line in 11.06 seconds yesterday to grab fourth place in the fourth and final heat.
The St Michael School boy and CARIFTA bronze medallist finished behind Germany’s Fabian Olbert who won the heat with a time of 10.93.
Keyrine St Rose of St Lucia was second (11.01) while Adrian Curry of the Bahamas came third, edging out Darian by 0.3 seconds.
The result means Clarke now stands in 14th position from a field of 38.
With a personal best of 10.71 seconds, Clarke, who dominated the Barbados Secondary Schools Championships (BSSAC) earlier this year, said that he has the ability to tighten up on his time.(AGB)
