Barbados’ popularity as a destination for people looking to invest in properties away from home has risen, according to a leading international property website.
The island moved up four places to No. 9 in the Top of the Props chart published by TheMoveChannel.com at the end of last year.
Barbados is the only Caribbean Community (CARICOM) country in the top ten and one of four in the list of 40. The others were: Belize, which moved up nine spots to 22; St Lucia, at 29, after a five-spot drop; and Jamaica, falling one place to 34.
The website said the end of 2011 saw “a last-minute rush of attention for Barbados and Morocco” which replaced Cyprus and Greece at the bottom of the top ten.
