IT MAY SEEM STRANGE, impossible and just wrong for a man to be pregnant. Well, as strange as it sounds, I must confess that I am indeed pregnant. At first, I didn’t know what it was; all I knew was that in my chest and stomach area I was getting these funny feelings.
As time progressed, these feelings evolved into a burning sensation and became more intense so I decided to seek help urgently. In a short time, through prayer, reading and talking to some specialists, I received some answers, which explained what I was feeling and why the feelings got more and more intense.
Before I share with you the results, I need to share a story with you. Some reading the story may not believe it but it’s a principle within the story that I want to leave with you. It is found in Mark 8:22-26.
22: “They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.”
23: “He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”
24: “He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
25: “Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.”
26: “Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t go into the village.”
There are three things I want to highlight.
1. “. . . He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village.”
I found this to be quite strange that Jesus, a man who heals people on the spot, would take this man somewhere to heal him. Why was it necessary for this man to be moved? I believe the village was a place of familiarity and a comfort zone for the blind man. When Jesus took him out of the village he had to put his faith and trust in him since he was in uncommon territory.
2. “. . . Do you see anything? He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
How does a blind man know what trees or people look like? I am left to conclude that he wasn’t always blind.
3. “. . . Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t go into the village.”
Jesus met the man in the village, but instructed him not to go back there, as it wasn’t his home. What was so wrong with the village? I believe being in the village caused his blindness.
The principle I want to leave with you, based on my interpretation, is that sometimes the place where you are can be your biggest hindrance. Sometimes in order for you to start a business, pursue a career, be at peace, further your education, overcome an addiction or build your family, you have to leave your comfort zone and step out by faith or what some successful businessmen call “taking a risk”.
After praying, reading and speaking to the specialists, I realized I was pregnant with a business idea. The reason why I was receiving and continue to receive intense feelings is because I need to leave my comfort zone, step out by faith and birth this idea in an environment that has favourable conditions to support its development.
I don’t know if it will succeed, but if I don’t leave “the village” and try, I will never know.
There are some of you reading who are still in “the village” and once you remain there you will continue to be miserable, unhappy and unfulfilled. Your village may be your church, your job, a relationship, school, your parents’ house or your country. If you are feeling that burning sensation, that desire and that drive within, this article is for you as much as it is for me.
