Readers weigh-in on Budget reply

Leader of the Opposition?Mia Mottley got a passing grade from some readers for the delivery and content of the Budget Reply yesterday in the House of Assembly while others gave her a thumbs down.
Those who favoured her presentation said Mottley spoke to the heart of Barbadians, breaking down some of the issues affecting the country, while others said it was rambling and full of fluff.
This is what some had to say.
Troy Devonish: “Mia is making some good points speaking to the heart of Barbadians who have to endure these austerity measures and these incumbents are laughing . . . .”
Suzette Johnson: “Make the public understand what the Minister of Finance failed to do to help the country.”
Angela Thompson Branch: “She speaks with such clarity.”
Felicia Gibson: “Mia is excellent in her response.”
Ellie Browne: “Job well done.”
Tanya Perry: “It’s not political, it’s about what’s best and can actual work for Bim.”
Wayne T. Griffith: “It was full of facts which Bajans will pretend not to comprehend.”
Sin Miedo: “Unfortunately she rambled too much but she still got some points in.”
Michael Browne: “Mia wasted three hours shedding crocodile tears, complaining of some of the same measures her party suggested when they were in office. What does Mia and the Opposition really want besides desperation for power? Poor Budget reply. The Government did the best they can in the interest of the country. Kudos to Sinckler.”
Jamel Layne: “FLUFF. These groundbreaking ideas can only be found when in the Opposition but when they have the power to institute change it’s a whole different story.” (CM)
