Some screamed their lungs out while others sang every word he wrote, but either way, Ne-Yo left the hundreds at the CHUM-FM 104.5 Breakfast in Barbados with a night to remember at Holders in St James on Sunday.
Not to be out done though, the three rising stars who performed before his headline act – Nikki Williams, Demi Lovato and RaVaughn – opened the show and had fans dancing and singing along to several of their hits, while heightening the audience’s excitement for the only male – and not to mention – sexy crooner, on the bill.
Fans went wild as the R&B, three-time Grammy-award winner strolled onto the stage from the rear and began performing a collection of his hits. And if “wild” was an understatement, then surely “frenzy” would be an accurate description for the reaction from his fans, who could barely contain themselves as they were glued to his every sensual, sometimes Michael Jackson-like moves, or as he tossed his sweat-drenched towels and then his under shirt into the crowd, giving one lucky fan a fight for her life to keep it.
It is fair to say that even with the stunning vocals and energetic performances of Williams, Lovato and RaVaughn, Ne-Yo stole the show.
Hands waved, voices were raised and screams were heard the whole time he was on stage.
Ne-Yo started with his big dance hit, Let’s Go.
Ne-Yo also sang hits like Carry On, Forever Now and ended the show on a high with Let Me Love You (Until YouLearn to Love Yourself).
