Ready for the ride

They came by taxi and private cars, but they all had the same aim: to be on the first Transport Board scenic bus ride for the year.
Small picnic bags, coolers, drinks, nuts and newspapers were the items of the day as families gathered in Independence Square for the special occasion.
Yesterday’s ride saw two busloads of people headed for Foul Bay and Three Houses in St Philip and then Bath in St John.
One woman, who would only give her name as Angela, said she had been to several tours and found them to be very relaxing.
“It’s usually good to get away from home; and you butt up on people you haven’t seen for a while, and you meet new friends too,” she added.
Susan Thornhill and family were also enjoying the day out.
Thornhill said she hadn’t been on one of the rides for quite a while, but that she too found them very relaxing.
“My youngest daughter always wanted to go on one of these rides; so we are all going today,” she added. (CT)
