Former Cabinet Minister Rommel Marshall is facing expulsion from the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP).
Reports reaching the WEEKEND NATION yesterday indicated the BLP’s National Council has recommended that disciplinary charges be brought against the one-time Minister of Transport and Works for his anti-BLP role in last February’s general elections.
When contacted yesterday, general secretary George Griffith confirmed the latest development, noting he had been mandated by the National Council to bring charges against Marshall following a report from the party’s membership.
“I’m going to follow the book,” Griffith said, pointing out that Section 81 of the BLP’s constitution says a member could be suspended or expelled for any breaches of the rules and regulations.
