THE?NATIONAL UNION OF PUBLIC WORKERS (NUPW)?is appealing the recent dismissals of former Barbados and West Indies fast bowler Milton Small and long-standing national netballer Jacqueline McConney (née Browne) from their coaching jobs at the National Sports Council (NSC).
Acting assistant general secretary of the NUPW, Delcia Burke, told the DAILY?NATION the NUPW would be holding a meeting for NSC staff this afternoon at the union’s headquarters in Dalkeith where the grievances and issues facing the workers would be discussed, with the sacking of Small and Browne certain to be one of the major talking points.
“I don’t like how things are going on at the National Sports Council. We want to have [the workers’] take on the grievances and issues they have and then the union will decide on how to proceed,” she said.
Burke said she was concerned about how the NSC?handled the cases involving Small and Browne. (MK)
