DAVID COMISSIONG’S Peoples Empowerment Party (PEP) says a public sector pay cut may be preferable to job losses as Government sets about cutting the national deficit.
In a news release, Comissiong offered suggestions on how the Democratic Labour Party administration could resolve the country’s current economic woes.
He said while PEP agreed that Government must reduce its expenditure, he did not believe the correct way to do it was to dismiss public servants.
“As far as we are concerned, if there are sacrifices to be made, let us all share in those sacrifices collectively, rather than placing them on the shoulders of one segment of our national population,” he said. (AH/PR)
