The national summer camp programme has received in excess of 70 per cent positive feedback, says Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Stephen Lashley.
At the church service yesterday at New Dimensions Ministries to launch this year’s programme, the minister said there was an assessment system in place to review the programme each year, along with people who are responsible for reviewing everything, including the procedures, on a continuous basis during the camp.
The reviews had indicated that the camp was continuing to meet its objectives of engaging the island’s children in structured developmental programmes, he said.
The yearly review report had led to curriculum enhancement as well as to the training of camp personnel, Lashley added.
The minister disclosed that so far 9 000 had registered for the programme at almost 60 locations across the island from July 15 to August 23. (LK)
