Conde Andrew Riley says his Queen’s New Year Honour was a huge vote of confidence for the work of his Barbados Cricket Association’s (BCA) administration.

Speaking to NATIONSPORT yesterday, Riley, president of the BCA, said he was humbled and a little surprised to be made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the Queen’s 2020 New Year Honours.

“I am a little surprised. I wasn’t expecting that. It is a victory for all of the work that the board of the BCA is doing. It is nice that the work the BCA is doing has been recognised,” he said.

Riley was elected to the BCA’s board in 1996 and, except for one year, has served Barbados’ cricket for the past 21 years. (MK)
