AN UNDEFEATED 93 by veteran batsman Floyd Reifer enabled Sagicor UWI to reach 251 for nine against Tele Barbados 8000 Inc Carlton. After winning the toss and electing to bat on a good pitch, UWI slipped to 121 for five due to some tight bowling from the Carlton bowlers. But the dependable Reifer, who only played because of the absence of some of the leading players from the team, and who batted throughout the innings with an injury, took control of proceedings, and with the assistance of the lower order, guided his team to a much safer position by the close. Reifer brought up his 50 with nine fours and two sixes, and has so far struck some nine fours and three sixes in his undefeated knock.Earlier, opener Simon Naitram (46) and Kjorn Ottley (36) gave some impetus to the UWI innings. Fast bowler Dawayne Sealy (3-53) and off-spinner, captain Marlon Graham (3-69), were the successful bowlers for Carlton.
