A second Almond Resort hotel is on the verge of being sold and the deal should be sealed by month end.
This time the new owner will be Jamaican hotel group Couples Resorts which revealed yesterday that it was in negotiations with Almond Casuarina Beach Club for purchase of the South Coast hotel.
Almond Casuarina, located in Dover, Christ Church, is a member of the debt-ridden Almond Resort group of hotels being sold off by parent company Neal & Massy to cover its near $100 million in debt.
In a statement published yesterday, chairman of Casuarina Beach Club, Anthony King, and Couples’ chief executive officer Glen Lawrence announced that the two companies were in “firm negotiations” concerning sale of the 280-room property. (GE)
