Vandals strike at church

SIGNS OF THE TIMES, they were not – not for members of a rural St Philip church in Church Village over the weekend.
As worshippers were making their way to the Church of Christ for what is usually a festive and worship-filled morning, they were greeted with signs they could not interpret: profanity written on the walls, slashed chairs and drums, defaced carpets and, strangely enough, scissors and pens laid out in a circle.
A concerned deacon, who requested anonymity, said the bizarre developments were first noticed on Friday night when members of the church youth group went to a meeting and discovered that someone had tampered with one of the lattice windows.
He said it got worse between Friday night and Sunday night when they discovered these objects.
