Low-income houses on show

BARBADIANS LOOKING for low-income housing got some ideas about the endless possibilities yesterday.
The National Housing Corporation (NHC) hosted a housing fair at Woodbourne, St Philip, where people were able to view the tastefully decorated one-bedroom starter units, sign up, get financial information and check available building options.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, Minister of Housing Michael Lashley and Minister of Education and Human Resource Development Ronald Jones toured the houses yesterday. Stuart was full of praise for Lashley and the NHC staff for their efforts in “wrestling” the issue of low-income housing “to the ground”.
Here, Stuart (right) and Lashley discuss the aesthetics of the furnished bedroom.
