Road fatalities up

KINGSTON, Jamaica – One-hundred-and-forty-one people have been killed in traffic crashes on Jamaica’s roads between January 1 and June 6, up from 125 fatalities over the same period in 2013.
According to data from the National Road Safety Council, pedestrians, at 48, top the traffic fatalities since January. Motorcyclists at 28, private motor-car drivers at 21, passengers in private motor vehicles at 13, and pedal cyclists with 11 fatalities lead the six-month death count on the roads. (Observer)
