Outfoxed!

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has been outmanoeuvred by the opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) and is being forced to call a general election, three political scientists say.
And they contend that the longer Stuart waits to act, the worse it could be for his Democratic Labour Party (DLP) administration.
The three – Peter Wickham, Dr George Belle and Tennyson Joseph – were responding yesterday to the BLP’s announcement over the weekend that it was boycotting Parliament in protest against Stuart’s delay in calling the general election as the five-year mandate given at the January 15, 2008 poll expires.
“The Prime Minister has unfortunately played right into their hands by creating this last-minute situation where the Barbados Labour Party has a moral imperative,” said political pollster Wickham.
