Zabrina Holder leads Team Barbados, who have won 21 medals (six gold, eight silver and seven bronze) after the first two days of the 2010 Caribbean Island Swimming Championships (CISC) in Havana, Cuba.Holder has four individual gold medals and has already broken two records. Competing in the 13-to-14 age group, she won the 400 metres individual medley in a new CISC record time of 5 minutes, 17.98 seconds. The St Michael School student also has gold in the 100m butterfly, 400m free and the 50 fly as well as silver in the 50m freestyle, where she broke the national record, posting a time of 28.01 seconds.The two other gold medals came from Inayah Sherry in the girls’ 11-to-12 100m freestyle; then Sherry, her younger sister Sariyah, Kimberley Willoughby and Alhea Williams won the 4×100 metres freestyle relay.Inayah also had a silver in the 100m backstroke and a bronze in the 50 fly, while Sariyah had a silver in the 100m free, and Willoughby had two bronze medals in the 200 breast and 200IM.Christian Selby has broken two national records en route to earning three silver medals. He lowered the time in the boys’ 11-to-12 100m free to 58.67 seconds, and the 200 fly to 2:22.87, with the other medal coming in the 200IM.Amara Gibbs won the other two silver medals in the girls’ 13-to-14 400 free and 400IM and also won bronze in the 100 fly.The other bronze medallists are Deandre Small (200 breast), Lee-Ann Rose (100 back) and Matthew Courtis in the 400IM.
