Park-and-ride way to go, says Boyce

Barbadian vehicle owners need to seriously reconsider using a park-and-ride system at least three days a week.
Not only would it save them money on petrol and reduce congestion on the roads, it would make the Transport Board a more viable entity through revenues earned from the system.
Minister of Transport and Works John Boyce, in making that call in the House of Assembly yesterday, said he believed the embattled Government agency had the capability to rise to the occasion and become an excellent service provider in Barbados.
But he did accept that there was plenty of room for improvement.
Boyce made the comments after piloting a resolution for Government to officially borrow $32 million from the National Insurance Scheme to aid in the board’s financing until next year. (BA)
