NCSA’s camp in demand

DEMAND CONTINUES TO RISE for the transitional camp hosted by the National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA) to prepare children who sat the Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination for secondary school life.
Makaeda Greenidge, NCSA’s community programme coordinator and camp director, said the week-long camp targeted 40 children, but continued to be faced with the demand for more spaces by parents and sponsors.
Speaking at the launch of Project Safeguard Our Future Today at Marian Retreat House, St John, yesterday, she said the council was trying to devise ways to revamp the camp so that it could cater to the needs of the entire population that sat the Common Entrance Examination.
Greenidge outlined the benefits of the camp and emphasized why it was in such high demand. (LK)
