A number of Barbadian children are being forced to sleep on beaches and in abandoned buildings because their families have given them up.
This grim observation was made yesterday by Minister of Education and Human Resource Development Ronald Jones, who pleaded for Barbadians to show more love for each other.
“This happens in this country. But I don’t hear the raised voices. You know what I hear? The deafening silence of people who are comfortable or who have grown comfortable in their own state of happiness,” Jones said.
He made the comments while delivering a featured address during the closing ceremony of the LIME Summer Student Experience Programme 2012 at the Courtyard by Marriott yesterday.
Jones: Don’t dump them
