Tourism celebration

Tourism Week 2011 was launched last night with festivity and fanfare.
There was a performance by Danse Tropicale, the skit Barbados Is Fuh All A We by Jennifer Walker and Yolande Holder, and the delightful presentation by 11-year-old Ricardo Reid of 166 Square Miles Is More Than Enuff Fuh We – to great applause and much laughter.
There was also another reason to be upbeat. Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy revealed to those gathered at George Washington House, Bush Hill, St Michael, that tourism arrival numbers for 2011 had exceeded last year’s, quoting increases in stay-over visitors, cruise arrivals and CARICOM passengers.
Here, some of the colourfully attired members of Danse Tropicale in mid-performance.
