There were no dividing party lines at Parliament today.
It does not happen often, but members of the ruling Democratic Labour Party (DLP) and the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) were speaking with a single voice to stamp out discrimination against HIV/AIDS.
Led by Speaker of the House Michael Carrington, parliamentarians from both sides joined the staff of the National HIV/AIDS Commission to erase the ignorance surrounding the disease and to encourage people to be aware of their status and stay away from risky behaviours.
Most of them sported white T-Shirts with the slogan Mps Step Up The Fight – Live.Love.Respect.
Carrington, Gline Clarke, Mia Mottley and Ronald Jones were among those taking to the microphone to reinforce the messages. (YB)
