Mottley: Bajans still in dark

Barbadians are STILL unclear about their future after hearing from Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler yesterday, charged Opposition Leader Mia Mottley last night.
The Barbados Labour Party leader is also asking what it will take to get Prime Minister Freundel Stuart to address the people who elected him, as they face the prospect of job losses and possible lowering of their quality of life.
Mottley was reacting mere hours after hearing Sinckler in his near two-hour Press conference at Government Headquarters. It was his second major address to the country since delivering a belt-tightening Budget in August and as the Government’s extensive retrenchment programme affecting 3 000 workers continues.
“Yet again the Minister of Finance has put the country on pause to await news of how this Government will protect and save the lives of and quality of life of Barbadians. The full scale of our difficulties as a country has still not been revealed,” an unimpressed Mottley said. (AC)
