Hilton Barbados put on a special treat for guests with its annual New Year’s Day carnival parade.
The cultural extravaganza held last Wednesday kicked off with a “congaline” around the pool deck and through the resort’s lobby area. The parade featured a carnival king and queen, dancing girls in carnival costumes, limbo dancers, shaggy bears and stilt walkers, among other attractions.
General manager Matthew Mullan said the annual treat was designed to expose guests to Barbados’ cultural fare while providing them with a fun and unforgettable experience to celebrate the start of the New Year.
“Our guests, especially the repeat ones, love this carnival and it’s one of the activities they look forward to at this time of the year. They love to be able to interact with the performers and some even try their hand at some of the traditional dance moves. It’s just another of the many activities we stage to ensure they enjoy their vacations here with us,” he said. (PR)
