GOVERNMENT has set up an action team to focus on the economy, business and labour, says Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.
The idea for the team arose out of a meeting between Stuart and the tripartite Social Partnership three weeks ago, Stuart informed the SATURDAY SUN yesterday in a telephone interview from St Vincent, where he attended an annual one-day meeting of the Regional Security System.
“Coming out of the Social Partnership meeting were concerns raised by private sector business and labour. We decided from that to set up an action team comprising five persons from the labour union movement, five from the private sector and five from Government,” Stuart added.
He explained that the function of the action team would be to constitute three committees: one for economic growth, one for business facilitation, and the other for the social safety net.
