Crop Over 2012 is definitely in the air!
Artistes like Li’l Rick and Gorg have already released some of their music; and the first regional soca artist to visit, Denise Belfon, has already hit the stage with a promise to be back during the festival.
The Saucy Wow one spent an hour at the recent instalment of Ship Wrecked Wednesdays betwixt the Jolly Roger 1 and The Boardwalk in Bridgetown belting out song after song with the accustomed sexy performance.
But before the Trinidadian hit the deck of the Jolly Roger, she revealed to the WEEKEND NATION that she had been on the island for about a week working with some of the best local artistes.
“I will be back and forth from Trinidad to Barbados a lot because I intend to be a very big part of Crop Over this year . . . . Right now I am working out of all the studios in Barbados, thanks to King Bubba, Red Plastic Bag [and] Chris Altman.
“Alison Hinds and I had a conversation today [Wednesday], but I am not saying anything else. Li’l Rick, I love you; Peter Ram, everybody I am working with – the who’s who in Barbados and those everyone might know, I am working with them too.
“So I will be here for Crop Over; but you will have to wait for those collaborations,” she said with a teasing laugh.
