The Rotary Club of Barbados celebrated its golden anniversary with a gala banquet and awards ceremony at the Hilton Barbados last weekend.
It was a glitzy, formal affair that saw the organization’s big chief Kalyan Banerjee, president of Rotary International, coming to Barbados for a night when the yeoman service this charitable organization has rendered in Barbados was placed in the spotlight.
Past presidents, among them stalwarts who got the organization off the ground and by their leadership managed to propel Rotary into the limelight and to inspire civil society to support its work, were there and were recognized for their contribution.
