SCORES OF BARBADIANS turned up at the Barbados Fire Service headquarters at Probyn Street to view the body of fireman Christopher Edwards, who was electrocuted at Station Hill, St Peter, Wednesday last week.
Edwards’ widow Cheryl Edwards, along with Edwards’ close friend Chief Fire Officer Wilfred Marshall, also viewed the body.  Members of the public also filed past the body and used the opportunity to take pictures and sign the condolence book.
Cheryl Edwards, who said she had been “holding up just fine” added that she did not expect so many people to turn out to pay their final respects to her husband.
Dressed in his ceremonial firefighter wear, Edwards’ body was available for viewing from 10 a.m. yesterday until 3 p.m.
The funeral service will take place today at St Lucy’s Parish Church, while the interment will take place at All Saints Church. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Earl’s Funeral home. (LK)
