A decision will be made shortly on whether criminal charges will be laid against officials of CLICO International Life (CIL) after the company continued to write new insurance policies despite being debarred by the Supervisor of Insurance back in 2009.
While not wanting to divulge too many details, Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin told the SUNDAY SUN that “quite shortly that matter will come to some conclusion”.
“I think that they are fairly advanced in those investigations. The investigators had discussions with the Director of Public Prosecutions [and] he has given guidance as to how the investigation should proceed.”
The SUNDAY SUN understands that lawmen have extensively questioned directors, managers and other officials of the company. (BW)
