GOVERNMENT DOES NOT have an obligation to fully refund policyholders of CLICO, says parliamentarian Michael Carrington.
But the St Michael West representative conceded he understood the need for Government to try to ease the pain of the policyholders.
“A conscientious government will try to see how best in the circumstances it is able to stop the pain, to do things right so that as far as reasonably possible those policyholders who stand to lose at this time will get back their money,” said Carrington at the constituency’s first meeting for this year at St Leonard’s Boys’ Secondary School last Sunday.
