Following up on the introduction of an anti-bullying programme in schools, Supreme Counselling for Personal Development has launched a video competition to bring further awareness to the issue.
This initiative aims to help the company achieve its goal of reducing the incidences of bullying and preventing new cases from occurring.
With the assistance of sponsors, Supreme Counselling members and musicians Peter Ram and Benjaminz, the concept of the video competition materialised.
“After being in the schools and interacting with students, the question was asked, what else can we do to introduce anti-bullying solutions? We at Supreme Counselling decided to create a video competition.
“This was proposed during one of the committee meetings,” said Shineal Forde, Supreme Counselling’s bullying prevention officer.
The video competition is open to all secondary school students across the island and the individual or group who wins will receive a cash prize of $1 200. To enter, participants are invited to produce a two- to three-minute video of dance, drama or song centred on the slogan Bullying: Not Cool.
All dancers are required to choreograph their dances to one of the two anti-bullying songs, which can be downloaded from the website www.bullyingnotcool.org.
Videos should have a resolution of no less than 720×480 in MPEG 4 (.mp4) or Quicktime Movie (.mov) format and should be emailed to [email protected].
The competition ends July 31. (PR)
