A computer virus crippled operations at Carlton Supermarket on Tuesday, forcing the closure of the Black Rock, St Michael business at a time when regulars were heading for breakfast.

Managing director Andrew Bynoe did not disclose the financial losses they sustained, only saying “we lost today’s sales”, when questioned.

He told the NATION they were yet to determine the origin of the virus and had brought in a team to solve the issue, working alongside their Information Technology (IT) department.

They are hoping to reopen at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, but in the meantime, operations will continue at Emerald City in Six Roads, St Philip. (SAT)
